Rhythms & Echoes: Nine 14 x 14 inch oil on linen landscape paintings, completed from memory or direct observation. This series explores how the discipline of painting soothes and heals. The paintings are repositories - spaces where memory can be revisited, held, and processed. As viewers encounter each landscape, they are invited to catch their own breath and engage their own memories. By doing so, this practice takes on the form of a liturgy – a rhythm that holds the past and makes space for restoration.
From St. Victoire: This series highlights some of my oil paintings from my semester abroad. The paintings feature work from the countryside of Aix-en-Provence and the city of Venice, Italy.
Covenant College Studio Portfolios: These pieces capture my studio work as a college student. They follow a variety of different prompts, using mediums such as watercolor, gouache, ink, oil, etc.
Nature vs. Nurture: In this sustained investigation, I explored how humanity's relationship to nature becomes beneficial or harmful. I wanted to reflect the beauty of nature as a reminder to reevaluate our relationship to creation. I expressed how nature fills our surroundings, inspires our work, human's ability to destroy creation, nature's power to destroy itself, and how art history influences our interactions with nature.
