I am currently a junior at Covenant College on Lookout Mountain, Georgia where I am studying both history and art with a concentration in painting and drawing. I cannot remember a day that I did not love drawing, stories, or being outside. However, my deep fascination with art began to form throughout my high school years at the Geneva School where I was guided to look closely and reverently. Since then, I have been learning how to refine my technical skills, but also how art can teach me to hold joy and brokenness together.
Tucked away in the south of France, I explored my own style and enjoyed the peace of painting in the countryside of Aix-en-Provence. I spent my days either in the studio or the landscape, always with a paint brush in hand. Our semester eventually culminated with a week long trip to Venice. After five months abroad, I returned home with over sixty oil paintings and numerous watercolor illustrations. I am excited to share these pieces over my next few collections. Hop on over to my shop to find "The Provençal Countryside: A First Glance"!
I am encouraged by Psalm 30:5 where we are reminded that "weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning." I find this same joy in my painting practice. In Genesis 1:10, God calls His creation "good" for the first time. In the same way that our Father delights in His creation, I hope to seek joy in the act of creating.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
